Our Story
OptiFleet was founded with a vision to transform how New Zealand organisations approach the purchase, operation and sale of their vehicles.
Applying the lessons learned from over 30 years of consulting to public and private sector organisations, we have developed a revolutionary framework - the Seven Pillars of Fleet Management Excellence - that unites the disciplines of best practice fleet management and procurement.
To help our client’s adopt a best practice sourcing approach in a complex and fast-changing industry, we have an online vehicle sourcing platform, BestCar, the only tool of its kind allowing suppliers nationwide to bid for our client’s business.
Meet the Team
Jack Gordon-Crosby
Managing Director
Jack has an automotive engineering background, with a focus on design and manufacture. Since gaining an advanced trade certified Automotive Engineer and a Diploma in Business Studies, he worked as a procurement practitioner for an independent buying organisation, combining his passion for cars with strong analytical skills.
Jack co-founded OptiFleet in 2012 with a vision to develop online tools to empower buyers to make well informed decision. His knowledge of how things work and his ability to communicate what is needed ensures the services provide intrinsic value. Jack has created an effective working environment leveraging the skills of professionals in every aspect of the business.
Holly Garner
GM - Operations
Holly's main focus is on making it easy for your business to work with ours, and to keep you abreast of industry changes that may affect you. She’s also responsible for day to day business operations, and social and marketing communications about upcoming OptiFleet and BestCar innovations.
Holly has a strong sales and client service background, paired with her procurement and fleet management acumen. Holly’s role prior to OptiFleet and BestCar, centred on helping clients to reduce business risk and expenditure.
Nathan Dunn
Lead Developer
Nathan's responsibilities include the day to day running of the BestCar systems and how new developments in technology can improve the current platform. Nathan’s exposure to technology started at a young age, when his father purchased an IBM PS/2 for his insurance business, back in the ‘80s. Nathan gained his Bachelor of Information Systems degree at 20 - the youngest in his graduating year. Majoring in software development began Nathan's interest in how software and technology can automate and speed up otherwise complex, manual business processes.
Jane Clark
Lead Consultant
Jane works in fleet consultation for OptiFleet, as a consultant analyst. She joined OptiFleet in 2016, after a diverse career including stints as a road safety engineer, software programmer and test analyst. Jane now specialises in business analysis – combining her analytical mind with strong communication skills and a love of clear, concise writing.
Rob Marson
Lead Data Analyst
Rob's mantra is: ‘If you can measure it, you can manage it’. His diverse career began with a decade of owning and running a fast food business. Rob quickly learnt that in that low margin cut-throat world, the value of good business systems and accurate information is essential for success. Leaving the hospitality world behind, Rob applied his love of data and analysis to several industries - providing insights for his clients.
Richard Walker
Lead Software Engineer
Richard has been with OptiFleet since 2012, assisting in the delivery of our highly specialised, government procurement vehicle platform. Richard is a software engineer with a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, and over 10 years' experience in IT. He has worked with a wide range of industries - from Point of Sale, to GPS telematics. Richard has also been involved in successful start-up businesses, with clients spanning the globe. When he’s not in our Wellington office, Richard lives in Tauranga.
Amanda Todd
Consultant
Amanda has a scientific background, with a strong focus on ecology and the environment. Since gaining a PhD in Zoology in 2003, she has worked as a science and technical editor for a range of companies, combining her passion for science with her strong communication skills. Amanda joined OptiFleet in 2021 and is involved in preparing reports, ensuring that the in-depth data we produce can be easily understood by our clients. She is particularly enjoying being part of a team that is helping companies to decarbonise their fleets while making cost savings and is excited to see future developments in this area.
